The world is a better place because of GivingTuesday.
GivingTuesday is the world’s biggest day of giving back. Starting in 2012, it was created to encourage kindness and generosity. Since then, it’s grown into a massive globally celebrated day encouraging one another to give. According to GivingTueday.org, 75 countries participate, there are over 240 community campaigns in the U.S. alone, and the movement is growing year after year.
If the entire world took one day and gave, what would that look like? Who would that benefit? Asha Curran, GivingTuesday’s Co-Founder and CEO, started with these questions and now has an answer. “Healthy communities are ones where generosity is abundant,” says Curran. According to her, the idea of radical generosity is achievable not through an expression of charity but through solidarity.
Non-profits, social enterprises, mutual aid groups, giving platforms, are all organizations that have a platform on GivingTuesday. People across the world shift their sights to those whose values align with their own. Donating to your favorite non-profit means your funds are going to a cause that is near and dear to your heart. It becomes an outlet for people to give, without the expectation of something in return. As a result, communities and individuals flourish.
Robe Gifting International is a non-profit designed to gift robes and clergy accessories to faith-based organizations that are financially challenged. There are so many organizations that don’t use their robes or have upgraded from an old pair. We at Robe Gifting International simply ask, why not donate them? Spirituality comes in all shapes and sizes, and we feel everyone should have a way to express that.
Robe Gifting International is currently seeking used and unused robe donations as well as financial donations to offset the shipping, cleaning, and repair costs.
